Lying 2 to 5 degrees north of the equator, Suriname's climate is equatorial, warm and humid with average maximum temperatures around 30°C and average minimum of 22°C-23°C throughout the year. The area along the coast has two relatively dry seasons ranging from February to April and from August to November, there are also two periods of rain between May and July and between December and January, temperatures along the coast are moderate by trade winds.
